I was disappointed by this book. admittedly, it said it was for beginners. And admittedly, I had already managed to put up a site--which looks pretty terrible.. But I still felt like a raw beginner. I don't think this book has any information I didn't already know. So, if you are a complete beginner, this may be ok. But I don't think it is going to get you to creating a functional website.
This book had typos ( self- published?) and was a very superficial overview. Friendly - like having a quick chat with a friend. But not sufficient to actually do anything if you had a project to complete.
Just a sketchy outline, IMO. I found nothing useful.
I was probably expecting too much from a step-by-by guide which is simply some very basic things about wordpress. May need to find another guide book which can provide more information on how to make a website using wordpress.

Not exactly what I expected. There is some good information but it didn't give me the information I need. I will keep it for reference as I get more experience with the product.

This is helpful to small start ups and folks who wish to provide knowledge on the internet for others to access for free.Whereas corporations are unlikely to access in building a monetized site, Jonny Do Good may wish to address an issue (provide information) on subjects that he is passionate about using a website. Because Jonny is not expecting to profit from his site, he is unlikely or unable to invest a lot of his money *helping* others and using WP rather than an expensive web developer makes thus (conceivably) possible.Pros: Well organized, easy to understand, great overviewCons: This is a simple tome although as this is clear right from the title, WPB really cannot be criticized being a basic guide.
