I'm not very good at making pie crust, but love warm, fruit deserts and pies. This book is filled with recipes like Apple and Blackberry Crumble, Peach Cobbler, Caramel Apple Crisp, Cherry Clafoutis, Fig and Honey Croissant Pudding, Pear Tarts, Cherry and Ricotta Strudel, Strawberry Buttermilk Cake, and Meringues. Oh yes, there are some pie recipes in here too.I leafed through this book at a specialty book store and knew I had to buy it. I refused to pay the high book store price and instead bought the book for a much better price on Amazon. No regrets! Definitely my favorite "Comfort-food-desserts" cookbook. The recipes are unique, elegant, delicious and astonishingly easy.When you can sprinkle mango slices with lime juice and bake them on a cookie sheet while you simultaneously toast a mixture of flour, butter, coconut and crushed macaroon biscuits. Then scoop the mangos into individual serving bowls, top with the toasted coconut macaroon crisp, and finish with a dollop of Vanilla Bean Ice Cream, well... what could be easier?Beautiful color photos on every page. (I won't buy a cookbook that doesn't clearly show me what I'm making.)I highly recommend this book.
I cannot wait to begin baking the recipes in this book. I've read it cover to cover and have done lots of baking so I know these will work...and the photography is gorgeous.
